Urban DesignTheatre-Fall 1995

    Faculty, students, and design professionals periodically participate in marathon design sessions known as "charettes." A charette was held in January over a 55-hour period to redesign selected corridors in downtown Las Vegas. Six teams suggested designs, drew sketches, created models and planned what the area could look like in the future.

    Hosted with southern Nevada, American Society of Landscape Architects and Design Workshop of Phoenix, AZ. A landscape architecture charette was held to study the desert environment and water-related issues. the charette was a three-day event held at the Las Vegas Water district.

    Mr. Kunstler delivered both interesting and provacative insights into architecture, and Las Vegas's adaptation of it, through his eyes.

    Landscape Architecture Program Review - May 3rd-6th, 1998

    The Landscape Architecture Program hosted an LAAP team review by the LAAB. The Panel will vote on the team report at the July meeting.

    Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown - May 16th, 1998

    Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown were awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters at the thirty-fifth annual Commencement, ceremony. The evening before included a wonderful reception for the recipientsin our new Architecture building.
